AIPPI Sweden appoints new Secretary and Events Coordinator

David Leffler has been appointed Secretary of AIPPI Sweden and Annie Kabala has been appointed Events Coordinator. AIPPI is the world’s leading International Organization dedicated to the development and improvement of laws for the protection of intellectual property. It is a politically neutral, non-profit organization, based in Switzerland with over 9000 Members representing more than 100 countries.

AIPPI Sweden, in its current form, was created on September 5, 2016. Due to digitisation and globalisation AIPPI Sweden sees it as crucial to further improve, and stress the importance of, Intellectual property rights in Sweden, and to harmonize global initiatives and legislation. Sanna Wolk of Uppsala University is the President of AIPPI Sweden and many of Sweden’s most prominent people within the field of intellectual property law are members of the Board. 

Through David’s appointment as Secretary, he will be co-opted to the Board of AIPPI Sweden.

David is currently practicing law at Synch, a Swedish law firm with an experienced and internationally recognised team focusing on digital business and technology. Before joining Synch, David worked for almost five years at the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). David has also served as Legal Advisor at the Swedish Patent and Registration Office (PRV).

Annie is currently senior associate at Lindahl and a member of the firm’s Intellectual Property Group. She specialises in IP law, marketing and life sciences and works with dispute resolution in these areas. She also works with regulatory issues and M&A in her areas of expertise.
